Each year, BMO brings together its marketing team from across Canada for an annual all-hands meeting. While these gatherings allow attendees to collaborate, share ideas, and strengthen connections, they also create a rare opportunity to provide every employee present with a consistent, professional headshot during a single event.

To keep the experience organized and minimize disruption to the proceedings, employees were sent to the portrait station in small groups throughout the day. This allowed participants to receive their headshots without waiting in long lines or being pulled out of the rest of the meeting schedule. Our mobile studio was set up adjacent to the event, making it easy for employees to step away briefly before returning to the day's agenda.

Retouching your headshots: perfectly polished
There's a fine line between retouching a corporate headshot too much and just right. One Tree Studio is careful to capture you in your best light, and provides professional retouching that looks just right!
Everyone wants to look their best in their professional headshots. With the editing tools available to photographers, the question comes up - how much retouching should a headshot receive?
It's no secret that we can take the average person and Photoshop them into an unrecognizable, fabricated super model. We can snip and tuck, liquify, contour, and remove or add just about anything to your image. But how much retouching is too much?
There is a fine line we walk every time we begin retouching your images. Below are a few headshots that we've retouched. The before image is straight out of camera with no retouching. The after image has One Tree Studio's retouching service applied.
Some photographers choose to take things too far - you've all seen images like this. The person looks like they have no pores, their pupils are glowing, and every line on their face as miraculously vanished. Imagine the shock when they show up for their job interview!

Convenient On-Location Photo Shoot: For groups of any size, our team will arrange an on-location photo shoot with all the benefits of our professional studio. We bring your choice of backdrop colour and our flattering studio lighting. We can also use the environmental background at your location.
Easy Online Scheduling: Once you’ve selected your photo shoot date, we’ll send you a custom online scheduling website link for your company. Share this link with everyone who needs to participate in the photo shoot and we’ll take care of the rest. Each person participating signs up for the time slot of their choice. They can easily reschedule their time slot if needed.
Headshot Guidance: We’ll also send you an information page to share with your company with tips on what to wear and how to prepare for amazing headshots.
Smooth Sailing: On the day of the photo shoot, our specialized high-volume workflow allows us to move through large groups of people quickly in about 2-3 minutes per person. Our stylist will help with stray hairs and clothing lint so each person is looking their best. If your package includes professional retouching, each participant will have the chance to select their favourite headshot for retouching immediately after their appointment.
File Naming: If you are using these headshots internally, our file naming system will make your life easier. You many not know everyone’s name in a large company, so our system attaches names right to the headshot files.
Easy Delivery: 1-2 weeks after the photo shoot, we’ll deliver a complete gallery to you with all of the proof images and all of the professionally retouched images each person selected. We’ll also send out individual emails to each participant with their own headshots. This means that you don’t have to worry about distributing the files afterwards. If you need a faster turn around time, just ask. We can accommodate rush requests if we know in advance. One tool we can't live without is Todoist. It's an app that is easy to use and helps you keep your tasks organized. Keep all your obligations in it, and you'll never forget the things you have to do! It makes keeping your word easy!
3. Care about your clients with help from HIGHRISE.
A little bit of kindness goes a long way. Does your client have a birthday? Is their mother sick? What can you do to make their day a little brighter? Little acts of kindness show that you care about your client, not just making money off of them. You want to build a trusting relationship, and that means going out of your way to be kind. When a client feels like you've gone above and beyond your duty, they are so happy to use you again and to refer you to their friends. If you want to stand out from the crowd, it's not enough to just do your duty. You've got to impress and do something unexpected. Care about your clients!
If someone refers a client to you, send them a thank you note with a gift card in it. They won't be expecting it and next time someone is looking for a real estate agent, guess who they'll think of...YOU!
You can use a tool like Highrise to stay organized. It's a simple customer relationship manager tool (CRM) that keeps track of your contacts, conversations, and important information about your clients. This tool will help you go above and beyond expectations!
3. Be reachable and communicate with help from NEWTON.
In a culture where everything is delivered immediately, clients get frustrated when they can't get the answers they need quickly. If you're busy when a client leaves you a voicemail, send a text message or email immediately to say you're tied up but received their request. You're on it. You're looking out for them. One Tree Studio had the pleasure of serving the Rogers Enterprise Business Unit at their annual sales rally at the Sheraton Centre Toronto last week. Hundreds of conference attendees were treated to complimentary studio-quality headshots that were delivered instantly by email!
Our photography team planned a carefully choreographed headshot experience. From the hair and make up touch ups with our professional stylist, all the way to the instant image delivery at our kiosks; each attendee moved through the process with ease and we received fantastic feedback! (Please note: These images have not been retouched - just naturally great lighting!)
The final result was 909 headshot images delivered instantly to 268 people over the course of 6 hours of shooting. For this event, that's an average of 1m20sec per person, and 2.5 headshot images delivered per minute. Now that's fast! One Tree Studio provided headshots in our mobile photography studio for PuroClean at their annual conference at the Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls. We also brought along our Mini Studio Booth, photo booth, for their after party at the Hard Rock Cafe.
We had the pleasure of serving the PuroClean team last week at their annual conference at the Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls. We set up our Mobile Photography Studio to photograph members of their team, providing headshots and a large group photo.
After the conference, their team was treated to a great party at the Hard Rock Club, part of the Hard Rock Cafe. Our Mini Studio Booth kept everyone laughing and having a great time. Have a look at a short feature video and some of the images from their One Tree Studio experience.

One Tree Studio Inc. had the pleasure of serving the executives of Rogers Communications last week at their Leadership Conference at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. As executive business men and women, it's a challenge to find the time to update headshots for use on LinkedIn and on the corporate website.
